Summer Reading 2013
Each student (8-11) chose which novel they would like to participate in over the summer. Students will read their chosen novel as well as How To Read Literature Like a Professor during the summer. Each week I will post a question related to their novel on Edmodo. Students will then answer the question and then reply to 3-5 other students. This practice will allow for deeper thinking and richer discussions to keep those critical thinking skills going over the summer. Mrs. Kirk, along with Mr. Woiwood and Mr. Josephson, will be logging in over the summer and delving into these conversations as well!
Below is a link to pdf instructions on how parents can get an Edmodo account to look at what is going on. Parents are not allowed to post or send emails, but they can check out the conversations and questions to also discuss in the home. This is not a high pressure activity… We are not looking so much for right or wrong answers but answers that you have given thought, analysis, and decision making to! Good luck and please feel free to contact Mrs. Kirk at
